This is a memecoin, not an investment. The creator fees go straight to Trenchkid to help with his medical bills. It's a coin for a guy who spent way too long in the trenches, the real ones and the chart ones, and came out the other side with a brand new kidney.

Trenchkid was a regular guy in his early 20s. He went to work, hung out with his friends, watched the Rams, and stayed up too late. Then his kidneys started failing and his whole life turned into appointments, blood work, and dialysis chairs.

He spent 3 years on the transplant list. Three years of dialysis sessions that ate whole afternoons, of skipping plans because he was wiped out, and of keeping his phone on loud every single night just in case. While his friends were going out, he was hooked up to a machine with a phone in his hand, scrolling charts and memecoins to pass the hours. That's where the name comes from. He was in the trenches twice: once in the hospital and once on-chain.

He never really complained. He just made jokes about it, kept showing up, and kept waiting.

Then one night the phone finally rang. They had a kidney for him.

Then the surgery happened. Then some of the Rams pulled up to his hospital room, and ABC put him on the news, because apparently the trenches make good TV.

So we made $TRENCHKID. It's a meme. It's a thank you to his donor. It's a reminder that you can be down bad and still make it. We're doing this for Trenchkid.

Every hotspot is a real kidney fact, simplified by people who are not doctors but did check.

Fig. 02 / How it works (napkin edition)

From the trenches to a new kidney, in 5 steps

Very simplified and not medical advice. Every case is different, so ask an actual doctor.

  1. STEP 01Kidneys clock out

Kidneys filter waste and extra fluid out of your blood. When kidney disease gets bad enough, they can't keep up anymore. That's kidney failure, also called end stage kidney disease.

  2. STEP 02Dialysis, for 3 years

A dialysis machine takes over the filtering. A common setup is in-center sessions about 3 times a week, a few hours each. Trenchkid did that for 3 years while he waited on the transplant list.

  3. STEP 03The call

When a matching donor kidney becomes available, the transplant team calls and you head in, often on very short notice. Hence the phone on loud every single night.

  4. STEP 04The transplant

Surgeons usually place the new kidney in the lower abdomen, near the hip, and connect it to nearby blood vessels and the bladder. The old kidneys usually stay right where they are unless they're causing problems. So yes, a lot of people end up with three.

  5. STEP 05Out the trenches

Recovery, lots of check-ups, and anti-rejection meds for as long as the new kidney is working. The trade: no more dialysis schedule running his life. gm.

After 3 years on the list, the call came · the crew

He's awake, he's sore, and the new kidney is doing its job. First thing he asked for after the surgery was his phone. Somebody in the room said "what's the chart doing" and nobody's sure who.
